Former president Donald Trump’s alternative social media app, Truth Social is now available to download on the App Store, albeit in a limited manner.
Truth Social is a social media platform that’s similar to Twitter and is owned by media company Trump Media and Technology. Users who have downloaded the app will be asked to register, but then will get a notification that there’s a waitlist of more than 150,000 people.
This development signals Trump’s push into social media, a year after being suspended from Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. Trump’s first post was apparently from his son, Donald Jr., saying ‘Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!’. The posts in Truth Social are called ‘truths’, while reposts are termed ‘retruths’.
Trump Media and Technology CEO Devin Nunes claims that the social platform will be fully operational by March, and that anyone in the US will be able to get in any time.
