Teaching your pet new tricks is good for your physical health as well as your pet dog’s.

It can create a special bond that can last years. You can also teach these tricks to your dog to help you in your daily life and when you’re staying at home in your Orie condo. So here are some tricks you can teach your dog.

Contents

  • 1 Leave It
  • 2 Clean Up
  • 3 Quiet
  • 4 Hug

Leave It

Once learned, this trick can prove to be very useful. This trick will stop your dog from eating harmful or toxic food. You’ll need lots of patience before you start. First, place the treat a few feet from the dog. Naturally, your dog will try to eat it, so you should put a leash on them before attempting. Say the command, ‘Leave it’. Repeat until your dog learns the trick.

Clean Up

This command can also enrich your daily life, although teaching it is hard, it will be worth it. Make sure the toy is in your dog’s mouth. Then say the command ‘clean up’ or ‘toy box’. When your dog drops it in the toy box, give your pet lots of praise and affection as a reward for obeying.

Quiet

This command is simple and will take very little effort. To teach this, your dog is allowed to bark at least 3 or 4 times and then say quiet. restrain from shouting, just say the order calmly. You can then reward your pooch when he/she is not barking. Just make it clear you focus on the command itself and not the noise.

Hug

Teaching your dog this trick does not do really anything, but it’s endearing and fun to show off to friends and family members. To teach your furry friend this command, kneel on the ground and have them in front of you. Gently place your pet’s paws on your shoulders, then release your pet’s paws. Reward and repeat until they get it.
