It could be difficult to find focus and motivation to lock in and do the task you need for the day. Cramming it results in faster burnouts and makes you delay that work even more as you dread walking over to your workstation. Here are four time management and focus techniques for better productivity and efficiency. The good news is that it works even in a home setup in your Lentor Signature condo.
Eisenhower Matrix
The Eisenhower Matrix is a technique that allows you to prioritize the more important tasks that you need to do and classifies all of them depending on urgency and importance, which is done via a 2×2 grid. The first grid is the ‘do first’, or the tasks that are most important and urgent, while the second grid has the ‘important but not urgent’ tasks. The third are tasks you can delegate, meaning they are urgent but not important. The last is not urgent nor important..
Pomodoro Technique
Pomodoro was made in the 1980s by Francesco Cirillo. It is a technique for time management where you will set a timer for 20 to 25 minutes and work on the task uninterrupted until that timer runs out. You are then given a 5 minute break to drink water or refresh and go back at it. After a couple of cycles doing this you can make your breaks longer.
The Pareto Principle
Known as the 80/20 Rule, where 80% of results or your outcomes come from 20% of your effort, meaning that a small bit of your tasks will be the drive for most of your outcomes that matter.
Time Blocking
A technique for time management that divides hours in the week in segments for certain tasks, this gives you a visual idea on your work calendar and makes it digestible and less overwhelming. This allows you to focus on one task instead of jumping to others that may not be related.
