A condo has minimal space, making bonding and companionship with a pet dog challenging to sustain daily. You can imagine yourself not doing anything and dying of boredom, and you can see your pet that way, too. Here are four fun games to keep your dog engaged while getting both physical and mental exercise. If you are moving to a new place like Springleaf Residence, know their rules regarding dog ownership as well as pet-friendly amenities where you can do more activities with your pet.

Contents

  • 1 Play Tug of War
  • 2 Get Puzzle Toys
  • 3 Teach your Dog some Tricks
  • 4 Play Indoor Fetch

Play Tug of War

Pretty sure almost everyone knows this classic game, and every dog! First, invest in a rope toy or any other item that can withstand tugging. Play with your pupster and make it a challenge- don’t let your pet always win. Teach your dog to drop the rope upon your command, so it is clear you are still the boss.

Get Puzzle Toys

Puzzle toys challenge your dog’s problem-solving skills and determination. Find good and challenging puzzles for your pooch and then fill them with treats or dog food. If you want the game to last longer, freeze the treats so it will be more exciting for your pet dog. These puzzles occupy your dog’s mind and give many benefits while they figure out how to get their treats out.

Teach your Dog some Tricks

Dogs can learn a dozen tricks. Training gives your furry friend something to occupy their mind and requires mental exercise. Teaching your dog things like sit, high-five, roll over, spin, come, and more, can be super beneficial to both the trainer and the owner. During the process, your pupster becomes cooler and more patient. And if your dog has already mastered these, she or he can learn advanced commands such as keeping their toys, retrieving something, and taking out the trash.

Play Indoor Fetch

Of course, don’t do this in an environment with many things and valuables around. First, find a clear spot to play. Then, you can start tossing a soft toy or ball, and let your dog retrieve it. This could be done multiple times and can be something to do when you’re bored, or whenever your dog needs exercise or playtime.
