3D printing has become a growing innovative technology that allows the forming of 3D items using a machine. The machine is capable of creating products such as footwear, tools, and even furniture.

Given its vast capacities, people could be wondering if such printers are capable of making food and beverages as well. They may also be wondering how these 3D outputs differ from that of other edible-design printers, like a coffee printer.

3D Printing Beverages

Beverage 3D printing, specifically, has become an object of exploration. While there are some companies that developed 3D printed cups that bring flavor when water is added to them, there are also others that have delved into flexible 3D printing of drinks into cocktails. In order to come up with such outputs, the businesses utilized principles from design, life science, and robotics.

However, unlike what people may think of, such kind of 3D printing involves injecting edible microliter droplets within a cocktail drink. It does not create the drink from scratch. These droplets can be added in a series to create a specific design that can be appreciated through the glass drink.

Unlike other 3D printing tech that enables the creation of things, this tech adds to the aesthetics of the drink. What makes things better is that the materials used are really food grade.

While it may seem to be worth the hype, there are actually other alternative printings that may offer similar aesthetic level-ups. This is especially the case with a coffee printer.

Coffee Printing

The design capabilities of a coffee printer are still quite wide. More than just arranging droplets into cocktails, coffee printers can add actual photographs, designs, and text onto the top of a foamy drink. It can also be used for promotion of various sales and discounts—which just shows how much room it has for creativity. While it may not be capable of creating 3D designs, its 2D designs do not fall short.

Just like such 3D printers, coffee printers, like the ones from Drinkripples, are augmented to add designs to drinks. These are all for the sake of boosting the business, making the products worth sharing through social media and word-of-mouth, and giving the customers a unique and interactive experience that is worth coming back for.

Boosting Drink Experiences With Coffee or 3D Printing

While beverage 3D printing is a possibility that could be worth exploring, coffee printing is one that others shouldn’t take for granted as well. Both beverage 3D printers and coffee printers, such as the ones from Drinkripples, are worth trying out.
