Not everyone can transform their homes into a self-sustaining abode with solar panels for energy and a water system for drinking and hygienic purposes. However, you can start contributing to a greener environment and reduce your carbon footprint in your Nava Grove condo with these six tips.

Contents

  • 1 Smart Power Strips
  • 2 Indoor Plants
  • 3 Energy Efficient Appliances
  • 4 Sustainable Furniture
  • 5 Low-Flow Water Fixtures
  • 6 Solar Panels

Smart Power Strips

Aside from incorporating smart devices into your condo’s ecosystem, you can add more control by putting in smart strips where multiple appliances and items are plugged in. This way, you can easily shut the power off leeching to the unused devices, saving a good deal of energy in the long run.

Indoor Plants

Indoor plants are a cost-effective way to greenify your home in more ways than one. They can purify air and serve as ornaments in strategic spots in your living room, bedroom, and even bathroom.

Energy Efficient Appliances

Replacing decades-old appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and fans can make a difference in reducing carbon footprint. Modern appliances are more eco-friendly in that they use less energy- you can find out which ones save you more by looking at their EE rating. Inverter technology and more efficient chips are just a few examples.

Sustainable Furniture

Opt for green furniture or ones that were sourced using eco-friendly and sustainable materials. These furniture can be reused and recycled when no longer needed, and they look great in their own natural way.

Low-Flow Water Fixtures

Install low-flow water fixtures in rooms and places where you regularly use water. This applies to bathrooms, kitchen sinks, outdoor patios, and even hoses.

Solar Panels

If the condo allows, you can set up solar panels either on the veranda or on the walls or windows of your home. Put them in an area that gets plenty of sunshine during the day and you’ll have free electricity to enjoy.
