You don’t have to compromise on caring for plants in a smaller space. If you want to continue your hobby or pastime after you move into the Watten House, here are five plants you can bring along. As an added bonus, these plants thrive in a variety of environmental conditions.
Snake Plant
The snake plant gets a nod when it comes to plants that can fit in narrow spaces. The swordlike leaves grow vertically upwards and are non-messy, making them a great fit anywhere. Snake plants do not need too much water or sunlight, so they’re fine anywhere in your condo.
Peace Lily
Like the snake plant, peace lilies are low-maintenance plants that can thrive in any setting. The large green leaves are attractive as they are beneficial- peace lilies are known for their air-purifying properties. Plus, they won’t need as much water and sometimes send out stunning white decorative spathes.
Succulents
Succulents are native to desert areas and can survive for months without water. They’re also small and dainty, which means you can add them on any surface, be it a kitchen counter, a shelf, or even on top of your coffee table. Jade plants, string of pearls, and echeveria are all good examples.
Herbs
Care for small herbs in pots and you can use them whenever you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Basil, parsley, oregano, thyme, chives, mint, and dill are a few that can grow with minimal sun and water. You can even try to get a grow light hanging over them if the room doesn’t have enough sun coming in.
Lucky Bamboo
The lucky bamboo is a timeless fixture in many homes. The plant is believed to bring good luck and fortune to the house inhabitants. Lucky bamboos also grow slowly and aren’t fussy or messy in any way.
